I would like to share with you, “what made me decide to further my education to Doctoral Degree Level” - A number of factors contributed to my decision to further gain the doctorate degree. I felt that I needed a doctorate to really fulfill my desire to teach at the university level. Additionally, I felt a professional doctorate in Business Administration programme would add value to my performance within my firm.

My inspiration to pursue a doctorate started when I was only 8 or 9 years old. We had a neighbor who is an academic researcher for University of Hong Kong and I remember my mum admonishing us sternly to call him “Dr” out of respect, because he had worked very hard to earn that title. That instilled in my young mind a very high regard for advanced education. Initially, life did not seem to hold much
hope for me in that area, but in my age of 32 years old I was able to complete three master degrees (i.e. Master of Science in Facilities Management; Master of Engineering in Construction Management and MBA). Since I had come that far – and particularly because my-self was willing to invest in my education – there really seemed no excuse for not pushing ahead and turning my childhood dream into reality, i.e. studying doctorate degree and finally graduated on 11th November 2011.

To those who are considering furthering their education…DO IT. Don't put it off. Every day that you wait is a day later that you will achieve your goal. Don't allow yourself to make excuses…finances, time, age or anything else. We routinely make time and find money for the things that are truly important for us, so make it happen. Don't sit on your porch 10 or 20 years from now and think, “What if I had…?”

Lastly, I would like to share on my future plans and how to fulfill my future goals. I plan to complete my second doctorate degree or my forth master degree in the coming 2 to 3 years time and writing a few journals as well. I also hope to expand my activities in lecturing, perhaps by gaining extra courses to offer lectures at my current universities or finding additional universities to teach for on a part-time basis. In closing, thank you for making me a UMT DBA.

I have been serving in Hong Kong Police Force for six years. In order to higher my academic level, I took part in UMT's BBA.

I am a lifelong learner and always seek new ways to learn. That’s why I took part in this programme. Base on my on shift work pattern, I can easily manage my schedule through the online study platform and flexible schedule that served by UMT BBA program. I am glad that I succeed in getting a bachelor. This programme undoubtedly, has enabled me to upgrade myself. I have absorbed many knowledge in both management and business field. It widen my horizon and helped me to develop my potential and talent.
Last by not least, thank you UMT to let my dream come true.
